Comments on Arthur B's Two Jameses Falling Short of Excellence

Reviewing Galactic Cluster by James Blish and Nobody True by James Herbert.

I read A Work of Art as part of another anthology, and was very impressed... but then I remembered seeing his name on something with a sensationalist-sounding title involving Kirk, or Spock, or both, and decided not to read any more. It is sad how one decision can really seem to ruin an author's work...

That Blish's Trek adaptations seem to be both a) firmly out of print and b) absolutely ubiquitous in the second-hand books trade speaks ill of their content, but I do intend to track down and read more of his non-Trek stuff (and review them for FB, obviously), because when he's on form he's brilliant.

You want my copy of Galactic Cluster?

Were I not in another country, I'd say yes, I could use some nice meaningless SF. As it is, I have to (regretfully) say no!

Psssh, I wouldn't have offered the book to the entire internet if I wasn't willing to pay to post it.
